Programme Delivery Options

The regular one-year Programme is delivered on-campus at the University of Twente in the Netherlands. For students attending courses on campus, the nominal course duration is 48 weeks starting beginning of August. This includes a two-week break at Christmas, a one-week break in early spring, and a one-week break at Easter. However, participants who need more time to conduct the Programme may extend the period up to 56 weeks (which implies graduating on the second occasion at the end of August).

Apart from on-campus delivery of the Programme, also a mixed-delivery option is offered. Here, the Core Courses are delivered on campus, but the Elective Courses and the main body of the Final Project may be carried out through distance education in the participant's own home setting. If this option is chosen, the participant, apart from having a multimedia PC, should have access to Internet at his or her disposal in order to maintain regular contact with the Faculty and his or her mentor. This option includes the possibility of fulfilling the requirements for the Specialisation Phase partly on a part-time basis. In this case, the course duration may be extended for up to 17 months. In this mode, the participant completes the Elective Courses during the January-April period, and the Final Project during the May-December period.

The above mentioned electronic communication facilities (full access to Internet / World Wide Web) apply also in the distance-delivery option, in which the participant is enabled to complete the Programme totally through distance education. We expect participants in this option to devote at least 20 hours a week to the Programme, and subsequently graduate within 24 months.

Delivery of selected parts of the Programme may also be discussed. In this case, participants choose to take either single courses or packages (one or more core courses in combination with one or more related specialisation courses). Upon successfully completing these courses or packages, the participant will receive certificates under the auspices of the Master’s Programme.

For groups of students in a certain region, delivery in local study centres, combined with distance education, will be considered. This format takes the form of intensive workshops delivered on location by academic staff from the Faculty of Behavioural Sciences, combined with electronic communication between participants and lecturers from their home base.

Organisations that are interested in tailor-made versions of the Programme are invited to contact the Programme Management
